Did You Know? ... The Diamond Jubilee.

The girls have been learning about 'The Queen' at school to give them some understanding about the upcoming Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

Here are some interesting facts as told by the Blue Bear Cubs.

  • The Queen has a big pond in her garden. It's a very, very big pond. A bit like a lake. She has lots of pink flamingos. The pink flamingos catch fish for her dinner.
  • The reason why we are doing the diamond jubilee is because the Queen has been happy on her throne for 60 years (that's a long time!).
  • She sometimes goes to visit places and when she does she bows.
  • When she goes out to tea, or something like that, the flag is tied up. When she's at home the flag is let out.
  • She has special jewels and crowns. Lots and lots and lots of them.
  • When she was 40 it was called the Silver Jubilee and when she was 80 it was called the Gold Jubilee.
  • She used to have children but they have growed and growed and growed!
  • She's very, very, very, very, keen on dogs. Any Kind! Even if they are big and mean dogs. She loves all dogs.

Use these factoids wisely and expect fish if you get invited round to the palace for dinner!

Shoesday Tuesday 15th May 2012

Shoesday Tuesday is back!

Come add a pair of shoes, boots or slippers tat have taken your fancy this week.

These shoes belong to eldest and were bought Christmas 2011. I so wanted a pair but alas there were no adult sizes!

Vintage roses and a splattering of translucent sequins beautifully set off against an antique cream background. What's not to like?!

Add to that the comfort and practicality of flats and it's a win all round.

They look great mixed with cute girly dresses but are equally at home with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.

The Art Of Fart

We have fart problems in our house and it's not with smelly pungent farts. The girls are well practiced at letting them rip out from beneath their dresses.

No. The problem lies in eldests poor ability to make 'pretend' fart noises with other parts of her body.

For some reason the practice session is often in the car ...

Scene: Strange, slobbering, raspberry noises come from behind me and Mr Dad as we're driving the girls to school.

Mr Dad: "Who's doing that?"

RoRo : "Eldest is."

I look round to see eldest with sleeves pulled back and mouth wrapped around lower arm.

Mr Dad: "Why on earth you doing that?

RaRa: "She's practicing. She wants to get better at her fart noises. Like this ..." (makes fart noise) ... "She wants to be a fart when she grows up!"
