Lavender Tea

One of the simplest things you can do with Lavender is make tea. The flower heads make a ready made tea bag.

Gently pick your lavender and gently run it under cold water to remove any bugs, dust and dirt. Leave enough stem so it sticks out of the cup a little like a teaspoon. Boil some water and pour over the lavender and leave to stew until strong enough. You can play with the strength by adding more or less flower heads.
The pigment from the petals will bleed into the water giving it a beautiful colour which will deepen the stronger it is. It’s also nice served cold with or without ice and a slice.
This was part of a weekly craft hangout I usually join in with as ZingZingTree but as this is more foody it was more suited to BlueBearWood.
