Carte Noire Espresso Collection – Review

Sponsored

I am rather excited that Carte Noire have launched a new range of espresso capsules that are compatible with most Nespresso* machines. Coffee plays a big part of my daily routine from early morning through to early evening so having the Carte Noire espresso Collection available just adds to my coffee experience and enjoyment.

I have a Nespresso*M19 Citiz machine by Magimix and these capsules work perfectly with it. There’s no difficulty with inserting or ejecting the capsules unlike some other alternative brands.

There a four rather tantalising flavours that see me through the day perfectly.

“No.3 Elegant – is an exceptional pure Arabica coffee with s smooth and subtle taste enhanced by cereal notes”

It’s a lovely light, smooth coffee that’s perfect to wake up to, which is exactly what happens in this house. My girls are early risers and since getting my machine they love the fact that they can wake me up in the morning with a kiss and a cup of coffee … “Wake up mummy. It’s No.3 time”,  they chorus together.

“No.5 Delicat – is a pure Arabica coffee with fruity notes and a silky texture”

This is my kick start coffee. Having been woken up by No.3 I need something with a little more intensity as I spend the next couple of hours helping my girls read, practice their violins and cello, find lost shoes, tidy hair and finally get into the car with as few tears and tantrums as possible (and I include myself in that last comment!).

“No.7 Aromatique – an aromatique pure Arabica coffee with delicate hints of cocoa”
Mid morning is all about me (if I’m lucky) and Carte Noire No.7 with it’s richer and rounder personality is perfect. A chance for me to indulge in a little bit of sophistication and quiet.

“No.9 Intense – a rich, intense blend of pure darkly roasted Arabica coffee”

The witching hour hits all parents sometime between 3-5pm. My energy levels are low and tiredness starts to reveal itself. A perfect time to charge up with the heady delight of No.9. A lot of flavour in a very small cup. Just the way I like it. And perfect with a chocolate pick me up.

The Carte Noire Esspresso collection is a great versatile range of quality espresso capsules with a flavour for all tastes and occasions and I have thoroughly enjoyed being able to experience them.
This post is an entry in the Foodies100 Espresso Collective Challenge, sponsored by Carte Noire. 1. Those look really great. I have a Tassimo and a Senseo and I really wish there were more third party coffees availabl, it seems like everyone is going down the Nespresso route instead.

  2. These sound lovely. I used to have a Senseo machine but I really didn’t use it. I prefer to drink coffee when I’m out, and tea at home.

  3. Gingey Bites says:

The hubby would love this, I don’t drink coffee but he does and he’s very particular. Great review!

  4. I used to be a coffee merchant and can’t make it through the day without coffee, even 16 years later. I prefer to use freshly ground coffee in a cafetiere though

  5. well aren’t these very fancy. x
