This collection of beautiful cakes will make you want to go and bake. Seriously …
Everything about cake appeals to our senses. It’s curves, it’s colours, its shape, it’s smell, it’s texture. there’s a reason why cake makes things better.
And even if you don’t like eating cake you’ll probably still love flicking through images of them in magazines, peering through bakery windows at the soft sugary displays. It has the same effect on young and old and these cakes tick all the boxes.
By the time you get to the bottom of this page you’ll be mentally rummaging through the contents of your pantry, trying to work out if you need to make a quick trip to the shop before indulging in some creative baking in your kitchen. By the time you go to bed you house will be filled with the comforting aroma of cake. Your tummy will be filled with the satisfying heaviness of cake and you mind will be content.
That is assuming you didn’t manage to burn it and it cooked through evenly. That it didn’t sag in the middle, you didn’t drop it as you moved it out of the oven and it left the cake tin in one piece.
Happy cake day to you all!

These all look so pretty and are making me hungry. I’m trying to be healthier so I need to look back into the Deliciously Ella book and try some cake alternatives x
I really want to get back into baking this year – not sure mine would look this good though! x
i can’t decide on which one i would want to bake first! every single one of them looks so amazing
I am sitting here drooling at these recipes! They all look amazing! I have’nt really done any baking in quite a while, so these could be just the ticket to get me back into it x
Ooh these cakes are so gorgeous! I definitely want to learn how to bake.
That banana layer cake looks amazing
And this is the reason why I can never diet, these cakes are amazing. Fresh fruit and cream does it for me every time.
Some of them look absolutely stunning. Cakes are quite different in France. Here in England there are lots of cakes with cream and sponge, and we don’t do that in France. I actually like it very much. My favourite “British” cake is definitely the carrot cake.

Wow! Those are all just so gorgeous. The detail in the bundt definitely deserves top billing, but the others are no less beautiful!
