A couple of weeks ago my nostrils were slightly taken aback when instead of the lovely smell of bubble bath and soap they encountered the strong smell of garlic.
A few minutes questioning the girls revealed that RaRa had taken it upon her self to practise her chopping skills on some garlic in the bathroom. The evidence had been deposited in the bathroom bin.
Said bin was quickly emptied but the smell still lingered, so we aired the bin and a few days. The bathroom was almost back to it’s sweet smelling self.
A few days ago I noticed that the basin wasn’t draining as well as it should. So £5 later, Mr Dad emptied a bottle of drain clean down the plug hole. After which the strong smell of garlic came surging back … from the over flow.
Water poured down the overflow did not go anywhere. Time to find a wire coat hanger.
The first thing retrieved was a rather large, soggy, garlic smelling cotton wool ball. Aha! Problem solved.
The overflow was still blocked. Then up through the water floated a piece of garlic skin. Then another and then another!
Half an hour later me and my trusty wire coat hanger had pulled up the following bundle of garlic cloves. One had even started to grow!
