The party season is nearly upon us and kids everywhere will be writing present lists, picking party dresses and singing their favourite songs (just like their adult counterparts). And if you’ve got a little JoJo Siwa fan then this post is perfect for you as we’re testing out the JoJo Siwa Bodacious Bow and the JoJo Siwa Light Up Microphone by Nickelodeon. The perfect party accessory for all budding little JoJo’s …
But do they deliver value for money and live up to the fans expectation?
JoJo Siwa Bodacious Bow
The JoJo Siwa Bodacious Bow comes with JoJo’s signature heart print all over it, a coloured hair extension and is available in pink, blue and yellow.
The bow is made of a lovely thick, wide ribbon that holds its shape well. You can manipulate the bow a little and have it lying flat or pull it forward slightly.
The hair extension is twisted neatly in the packaging and secured with a clear elastic band and is a nice thickness so you see the colours and it looks nice and thick.
The back of the bow has a large, strong plastic barrette clasp that is used to secure the bow to the head. And hardcore fans will love the 9 JoJo fun facts listed on the back of the bow packaging.
Is it value for money? I’m not sure.
Priced at £9.99 this oversized bodacious bow is quite expensive but on the plus side it is well made and uses quality material, so you don’t feel you’re getting totally fleeced. On top of that, the bows do look really cute so I can totally see why they have become so popular. Parents will groan at the price (look out for special offers) but will be more than made up by the joy this bow will bring to their kids.
JoJo Siwa Light Up Microphone
This sparkly light up microphone is sure to be a big hit with the younger JoJo fans. Complete with pink sparkly bow and a light up microphone I can see this being a massive hit over Christmas.
You can play with it 3 ways.
1) Sing along to JoJo’s hit song Boomerang by pressing the blue hexagon button. This will either say some of her catchphrases or play the song. To sing along just hold down the large pink button and hold the ‘light-up’ mic (the colours don’t show up well in daylight) close to your mouth.
2) Use it as a microphone without playing JoJo’s song or catchphrases by just holding the pink button down. The lights don’t work in this mode.
3) Use it as an mp3 player and microphone by sliding a small switch at the side. Pull out the cable at the back of the mic and plug it into your tablet or phone. This will allow music to be played via the mic that you can either listen to or sing along with (press the mic pink mic button to join in).
The switch that moves the mic between mp3 player and Boomerang Mic was very stiff and needed a lot of force to move (might be useful for parents wanting a break from Boomerang!) and the sound isn’t brilliant. But it’s only priced at £14.99 and will provide hours of fun for little wannabe stars and you won’t spend hours worrying that they’ll break it.
Ro and Ra had great fun singing along to JoJo songs using the mic and when they were toddlers they would have been putting on shows and plays all the time using this… they’ll still do that now!
I’m actually becoming a JoJo convert. The bows and toys I’ve seen so far, although a little overpriced, are great quality and designed for 100% kiddy fun. The mic will be a big hit up and down the country and those big bright beautiful bows are going to continue to add a gorgeous splash of colour to our streets and houses for a few years yet!
