Recently we headed to Zippo’s for the #TotsParty where we had fun eating hot dogs, popcorn and candyfloss.
The girls fleetingly played with some balls, scarves and a low trapeze before being introduced to horse dressage skills and some budgie training.
Some very fast and lovely face painting followed and then it was lights down, curtains back, as a variety of acts from around the world entertained an expectant crowd. Some of the acts if I’m honest were disappointing and the first half felt a little like a talent show in places. But there were some absolute gems hidden in amongst it all and the kids loved it.
Acts of note for me were …
The Delbosq Clowns from France.
They were fantastic. Slick, sharp and funny (very important for clowns). Their slowed down cowboy fight was one of the most entertaining mimes I’ve seen in a long time.
The Kenya Boys. They amazed the audience with their display of strength, balance and teamwork when building human towers and entertained with fire and limbo dancing.
There was also an daring act by a young lady swinging high above on a rope. Twisting turning and dropping (part of the act) without a safety harness on and only the Kenya Boys below to catch her she had the audience gasping. Sadly I didn’t manage any photo’s that did her justice.
The act above all acts was Lucius Motorbikes and their Death Globe, from Brazil.
I will say nothing about them but leave you with this video …
