Mermaid Paper Plate Collage

Do you know any Mermaid fans? Then this Little Mermaid Paper Plate Collage will be a perfect craft for them.

Paper Plate Mermaid Collage

Paper plates are the perfect size for beginner collages and a great way to introduce children to mixed media arts and crafts. I prefer to use plain (non glossy) white paper plates as it’s easier to paint and glue on to them.

This project uses two paper plates and means that you can work on the outer porthole whilst waiting for the main plate to dry.

Paper Plate Mermaid Collage

Paint your background colour first adding a some glitter to the paint to gt some sparkle.

Then work up from the back using whatever bits of material you have to hand. We used some scraps of tissue paper, shells and sequins for our background.

Paper Plate Underwater collage

Have some fun making your mermaid. We used a pompom, skeleton leaves, sparkly pipe cleaner, glitter glue and match sticks.

Mermaid Paper Plate Craft

A great it of fun and a wonderful piece of art for the wall.
