What do HomeSense, Henry Holland and Walnut Cake have in common?
Red Nose Day is fast approaching (13th March 2015 to be precise) and for the second time HomeSense is a proud official partner. This year HomeSense have got together with British fashion designer Henry Holland who has designed two practical and fun limited edition aprons and tea towels for Red Nose Day.
Perfect to use for fundraising bake sales and Red Nose Day parties!
The aprons and tea towels come with the famous Orson Wells Quote …
“Ask not what you can do for your country. Ask what’s for lunch.”
And you get to choose between a plain or spotty design (both look rather cool).
They can be bought at HomeSense stores or online at TKmaxx where the apron retails at £12.99 (with at least £6.50 going to Comic relief) and the tea towel retails at £4.99 (with at least £2.50 going to Comic Relief).
So having received our aprons and tea towel it was time to Bake Something Funny …
Here comes the Walnut Cake part.
Children (the more the merrier), flour, sugar, margarine, eggs, ground walnuts, vanilla essence, icing sugar, egg white, cream of tartar.
Carefully weigh out all the ingredients taking care to get everything into the bowl.
Watch out or sabotage!
Carefully crack your eggs
Being careful not to drop any on to the floor!
Mix everything together and divide the cake mix between three pans.
Place in oven until golden brown and springy to the touch.
Give yourself a high five for getting this far!
Now mix the icing sugar, egg whites and creme of tartar over a pan of boiling water … concentrate as boiling water is a little scary and dangerous.
Sandwich the cake layers together with your frosting.
Use the remainder of the mix to hide the rest of the cake.
Finally add your Red Nose and your done!

We were sent the aprons and tea towels to review but decided it would be more fun to have a silly bake day.
Hope you enjoyed it

The aprons are ace by the way and although adult sized were great on my girls and the tea towel is enormous … perfect apron material as well!!
