Every year world book day creeps up on me and catches me out even though I have plenty of time to prepare. Many schools have a book fair and also allow the kids to go into school dressed up as a character from one of their favourite books. It’s great the whole day is about books, authors and illustrators.
I did try and be a little bit organised this year to. All three girls had chosen their books at the start of the Easter holidays. Unfortunately we parked the choices and ideas only to start the making the night before!
So let me introduce you to …
Winnie The Witch (and Wilbur)
The adventures of the wonderful avant guarde witch and her suffering black cat
Norman The Slug With The Silly Shell
One of my favourite books. It’s all about a slug who wants to be anything but an ordinary slug. You can find instructions on how to make it over on my craft blog ZingZingTree.
The Night Pirate
From ‘The Night Pirates’ … a book about some little girl pirates who steal the front of a little boys house to disguise their ship. This is so they can take back their treasure from the horrible adult pirates. Pop over to ZingZingTree for details soon how to make it.
These books have been long standing favourites with the girls for many years (I know them off by heart!).
Oh and if you haven’t heard of ‘World Book Day’ then where have you been?? They even have a fab website.
