My girls always come home from the beach with their pockets stuffed full of beach treasure that always includes shells. There’s something wonderfully tactile and calming about them.
They invite you to pick them up. Touch them. Play with them.
These sea shell puppets are a gorgeous interactive way to use to use your shells collected from adventures on the beach. They use the natural beauty of the shells and kids just adore playing with the, … well mine do anyway.
These simple shell puppets have been the focus of so many stories.
How to Make Sea Shell Puppets
Materials – Lolly sticks, googly eyes, shells and tacky pva (white) glue.
Get your children to lay the shells out different shell combinations on your lolly (craft) stick choosing what they want as a head and body. It’s great fun looking at all the different combinations you can have!
Use a liberal amount of glue to glue the shells on.
Add some googly eyes and wait to fully dry. A glue gun is quicker if you cannot wait but it’s more difficult not to let the glue show.
