This rather stunning Halloween wreath uses an old t-shirt, felt offcuts, some glittered toy spiders and a twig!

Materials Required To Make A Halloween Wreath
To make your Halloween Wreath you will need
- A polystyrene ring (I used an 8 inch)
- Black T-shirt yarn
- Orange scrap felt
- Garden twigs
- Black paint
- Plastic spiders
- Silver glitter
- Silver acrylic paint
- Scissors
- Glue Gun
- PVA Glue (white glue)
I used a mix of upcycled/thrifted and bought materials that I had lying around the house.
How To Make Your Halloween Wreath Base
First, cut up an old black t-shirt (I used one that my girls had grown out of) to make your yarn. You can follow this T-Shirt Yarn Tutorial if you don’t know how to make your own yarn. Or you could buy some pre-made t-shirt yarn.
Carefully wrap your yarn around the polystyrene making sure all the white polystyrene is hidden by the yarn. Leave enough yarn at the end to create a loop to hang the Halloween Wreath by.
Making The Halloween Wreath Components
First I painted teeny toy spiders with silver acrylic paint. Two of them were then painted with PVA (white) glue and covered in fine silver glitter. I painted the spiders that were going to have glitter on them as the glue doesn’t stick well to the plastic without the base layer of paint. It’s like an undercoat.
Whilst the spiders were drying I painted a twig from the garden with black poster paint, sealing it with a layer of PVA glue as I didn’t want the paint to peel off. And I also made some swirly felt flowers using felt off cuts.
Putting The Halloween Wreath Components Together
When everything was dry, out came the mighty glue gun and on to the wreath they went. Fantastic use of an old t-shirt!

I was wondering if you’d mind if I featured this in a top 10 upcycles of the week post. I’d like to use just one photo from your blog and put a direct link back to your post. Please let me know if this would be ok.
